Sharing Some Hobby House Inspiration Today!

Hello everyone! I hope you have all had a good day:)
Now I know it is Wednesday and I usually share a Heartfelt Creation design with you, but it is also my day to inspire you with a Hobby House creation......and as I haven't uploaded a card over on the Heartfelt blog I thought I would share one with you tomorrow.

I have used an adorable Sylvia Zet topper and created a spring card:

I also thought you would like to see this Easter bonnet box that I demo'd on Create & Craft back at the beginning of April....I know it is a little late to be sharing an Easter project with you, but I was really pleased with how this turned out:)

  • The toppers on both cards are The Hobby House:Wee Stamp Toppers - Wee Bunnies
  • The embellishments on both the card and the Bonnet are from The Hobby House Spring Time Embellishment sets.
  • I have used the Heartfelt Creations decorative circle die from the Raindrops on Roses die set on both projects.
  • I made the main oval card with Spellbinder Grand Ovals.I have used the Spellbinder Grand Decorative One oval die and also embossed it with the Spellbinder M-Bossabilities Elegance embossing folder (design A) for the blue mat.
  • The base of the bonnet is Spellbinder Scalloped Circles.
  • I created the decorative edging on the bonnet with a Martha Stewart punch.
  • To finish both projects off I of course added some stickles glitter:)
Now I really must dash and finish packing for my little trip to Spain:)
I will try very hard to bring some sunshine back with me :)

I will still be blogging whilst I am there and also launching a very! very! special Blog Candy......:) x
I am not sure if it will be Thursday or Friday as it depends on my internet access!

Take care everyone:) x

Hobby House Easter Inspiration

Good evening everyone! I hope you have all had a good day:)
I thought I would share another Hobby House card with you all and as Easter is fast approaching I'd like to give you a little Easter inspiration:)

  • The topper I have used is a Hobby House Wee Stamps - Wee Bunnies by the artist Sylvia Zet.
  • I have used a 5 3/4" square card blank and adhered some soft lemon card onto it.
  • I have cut some patterned paper from my stash (Lili of the Valley - Nitwits) 5 1/2" square and adhered it to the card.
  • I have die cut a Spellbinder Small decorative circle in the same soft lemon card, matted the topper on to it and adhered it to the card with some foam pads.
  • I have used flowers and made a bow with lemon satin ribbon from the Spring Time embellishment kit available HERE
  • I added the flowers in a small cluster around the bottom right of the topper and the bow on the top left. I also added some leaves and foliage flourish which are Heartfelt Creations dies and stamps.
  • The button, gems and small pearl flowers are also from the Spring Time Kit.
  • I have finished the card off with a little Stickles.....just a little hehe!
I hope I have inspired you today:) This card is another quick make!
Don't forget I have a blog candy which you can find by clicking on the 'blog candy' button in the sidebar!

Hobby House sneak peek

Good evening everyone!
This is a rather late post for me today, but I have to leave for the Create and Craft studio early in the morning (only a 25min drive though), and promised you all a sneak peek of a card I will be demoing tomorrow on my Hobby House show at 11am.
What do you think to my new look blog? It is unfinished as I have to change the background and the colour of the links etc....I wanted to go for a more neutral colour so that it didn't clash with the cards and projects that I post etc:) Hopefully I will have it finished by Monday......It is time for the dreaded VAT and as per usual I have left it until the last minute! So it looks like I will be swapping my crafting hat for my book keeping one:(

So anyway here is one of the cards I plan to demo tomorrow, it is a baby bib card....the inspiration coming from a card I saw a few years back in blog land!

  • I have die cut the main card from a Spellbinder Grand Scalloped Oval die.
  • I have used a small circle die to cut the neck of the bib.
  • The paper is from my stash (Lili of the Valley I think) which I have embossed with the Spellbinder embossing folder - Dainty Dots, design B.
  • I have inked the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • I have used one of the die cut toppers which are available on the show - Wee Stamps, It's a Boy by the artist Sylvia Zet.
  • I have used a small Spellbinder scalloped circle die to mat the topper onto.
  • The flowers, ribbon, pearls and buttons are also The Hobby House which are also on the show.
  • I have also added a little Stickles glitter:)
I hope you can all join me at 11am on Create & Craft tomorrow (Friday) for lot's of Hobby House inspiration!
I will be back on Saturday with some more inspiration and a new blog candy launch.....
probably will not be to early as I am baby sitting my grandchildren over night on Friday:)

Take care x
Hugs Nikki x

Card details:
  • I started with a 7"x7" card base and adhered some olive green cardstock to it.
  • I then cut some patterned paper from the NitWits collection and matted it on some cream card. I used some distress inks - Tea Dye around the edges. I adhered these to my card.
  • I then took a piece of cream card measuring 6 3/4" square used a Martha Stewart punch on the corners and took through my Grand Calibur with the Couture Creations embossing folder - Joes Garden. I also inked the edges and  adhered it to my card.
  • I die cut the small Spellbinder Grand Decorative Circle in cream card and inked the edges. I took my Sylvia Zet topper and again inked the edges and adhered it onto the Decorative Circle and adhered this to the centre of the card.

Creative Expressions - My first DT card

Happy Monday everyone:)  I am especially happy today as I am now an official Creative Expressions Design Team member.....Yay!!! so very honoured to be joining so many talented crafters:)

Before I share my first project with you I would just like to announce the winner of my latest blog candy.......a little late I know, but I had a class on Saturday ( photos to share with you all tomorrow) and the Grandma duties yesterday and my youngest grandson 'Archie' has a really nasty chesty cough and has wanted lot's of grandma cuddles:) and then to top the weekend off we had a leak from our shower which ended up gushing through the lounge ceiling! Just as well my hubby is a plasterer lol:) but the mess was horrendous:(....so all in all a very hectic weekend!.....

So the winner of my blog candy which was picked by random org ........................................................number 19 which is Pat L! Congratulations Pat......if you email me I will post your goodies off to you :) x

So now for my little tutorial on my Creative Expressions Design Team card:

Thinking of You

I started with a cream blank card measuring 7"x7" square. I then matted a piece of  gorgeous Foundations cardstock called Amethyst onto my card blank with 3D foam pads.

I then took some cream card measuring 6 3/4" x 6 3/4". I took it through my Grand Calibur with a Couture Creations embossing folder called Paradise and adhered it to my card.

For the next stage I cut 2 pieces of Amethyst card. The first measuring 3 1/2" x 4 1/2" and the other measuring 3" x 4". I stamped them both with the Creative Expressions background stamp - Leafy Background using Perfect Medium. I then Heat embossed them using Cosmic Shimmer Gold Detail embossing powder. TIP: Don't forget to either use an anti static bag or cloth.

I then matted them both onto some cream card.

Stamp the sentiment ' Thinking of You' onto some cream card using Distress Ink - Seedless Preserves. Die cut it out with the Spellbinder tag from the Fancy Tag Two set.

Whilst still in the die I inked the sentiment with Milled Lavender.
Next I made 2 Bitty Blossom flowers in the Amethyst card and 1 large in cream card. I used tweezers to make my flower but you can use a twilling tool if you prefer.
I then began to assemble my card. I used some 3D foam pads to adhere the sentiment to give my card a little dimension. I have added some Creative Expressions pearls to the centre of the flowers and cut some Pearl swirls from the larger Pearl Swirl pack. I made a triple bow with some Creative Expressions iridescent Grape Fuchsia ribbon and adhered it to the top right hand of my card.

To finish I added some Stickles glitter - Diamond and Platinum.

These are the products that I used:
I hope you enjoyed reading my little tutorial and I hope the photos were useful!
I will be back tomorrow with another project/card.
Take Care X

I am now a DT member for THE HOBBY HOUSE.

A very good morning to you all! The weekend is over so quickly:(
Last night I received some exciting news..... I have been chosen along side 11 other wonderful talented crafters to be part of The Hobby House's new Design Team.  Our creations will be on the new challenge blog which I do believe begins on the 1st June!!!! And maybe also shown on Create and Craft TV where the lovely talented Chris from The Hobby House demonstrates:)... This is such an amazing and exciting Team for me to be part of!!! :)
I have used there products for a few years now, but over the last few months I have really become addicted to them:) The colour pallete of there pearls, ribbon and toppers all beautifully co-ordinate. They have recently added beautiful card too there ever increasing range too:). You will have probably noticed that I don't make a card or project without a little bling, so there products are a perfect match for me:). When I got news that I was to be part of the Heartfelt Creations design Team I wanted too also find some products that complemented my designs.... and The Hobby House products do just that!!!!
So  if you are not familiar with The Hobby House products hop over to there website...you will find Embellishments, flowers, ribbon, stamps, accessories (including dies, paper pads, punches to name just a few) charms, Toppers (including KennyK, Wee Stamps), all that beautifully co-ordinate together soooo well !!! http://www.thehobbyhouse.co.uk/. Also do take a look at there blog and see all of the other lucky DT members :) HERE
I am unable to show you my designs that I submitted to them for the DT call at the moment ... you will get to see these later, but I have chosen a few of my projects to give you an idea of some of there products.... and what you could create with them ...

So I would just like to say a big thank you to The Hobby House for giving me this amazing and exciting opportunity x I am honoured to be part of the team!!!! x

Wee Little Bird House

Happy Thursday my fellow blogging friends. Firstly I would like to again say a big thank you for your lovely comments that you leave on my projects..... it is a joy to wake up everyday and see that my blog has been visited..... It makes my day!!!! Thank you also to all my new followers, I really do try and visit every ones blog and leave a comment, but I apologise if I haven't yet....... I am really busy at the moment, but I promise I will get round to all of your lovely blogs soon:).
So to my project that I would like to share with you today....... An altered Bird House! This really was a fun project to make. The bird house itself is from a company called Tando Creative, I got this at Ally Pally a few weeks back. It comes flat packed and is really easy to assemble and decorate....... I really should have taken pictures during the make, but as always I got carried away with the moment, but maybe I could do some video tutorials in the future ........ this is on my list of things that I would like to do......so watch this space:). Ok! back to the Bird House....... I chose papers from The Nitwit Collections - Country Lady: Available from LOTV.

  •  I used a craft knife and scissors to cut with. Only adhere the paper one side first then cut and then adhere the other side, else you won't see where you need to cut! I inked all the edges using Victorian Velvet distress inks.
  • Now assemble the house.... this is really easy as the base has slits in and you just slot them together. The roof just needs gluing in position.
  • Once all assembled you are now ready to decorate.  I have gone to town with this part:).
  • Most of the items I have used are from The Hobby House - The images are Sweet Blossom toppers (Wee Stamps, by Sylvia Zet). I have cut these out.
  • The roses are Wedding Day and Raspberry Truffle - The Hobby House.
  • The leaves and flourish are Spellbinder: Jewel Flowers and Flourishes.
  • The tiny birds - Marianne Design Creatables.
  • Pearl Brads -The Hobby House
  • Tiny pearls - Mei Flower
  • Tiny flower buds - Anne Marie Designs
  • Other pearls and lace  - my Stash
  • I have finished of with adding lots of Stickles Glitter - Diamond..... I think I have a little bit of an addiction with this product :).
Here are some more photo's to show you the house in a little more detail .........

I would like to enter this project into the following challenges:
Whimsy Stamps - Anything Goes -
Simon Says Challenge - Flower Power
ABC Challenge - Not Just One
Creatalicious Challenges - For The Girls
Our Creative corner - Anything Goes
