Butterfly Medley Inspiration

Hello everyone x

I hope you are all well :) x  It has been another busy few weeks both in my work and personal life.
We put our house on the market and sold it within a day to a lovely couple who want to move in the beginning of April as they have already sold theirs which meant that we have had to frantically find ourselves a new house, which thankfully we have now done and things are moving very fast :)  So if you thought I had gone missing again it is just that things have been very busy....exciting times ahead but after living in this house for almost 27 years you can imagine that although I am excited to be moving to a new house and area I am also a little sad to be moving from the house that I have brought my family up in :(

I hope you all managed to catch the Peacock Paisley launch at the weekend on Create & Craft.  I did try and do a blog post to make sure you didn't miss it but unfortunately my internet was playing up on the Friday evening and I then ran out of time so apologies if you did miss the shows. You can still watch the shows on the Create and Craft website though....I think :)

Here are a few Butterfly Medley cards.....again I am so behind with my posts I will share a few of them and then tomorrow I will share some of the Peacock Paisley samples from the shows.

Another beautiful collection which was a delight to work with.  I love the way that you can stamp and die cut all the butterflies out in one go like the flowers.  It saves so much time and Like I do with my flowers I now have a box of butterflies already stamped and die cut out in a box ready to use on my projects.

I will be back tomorrow with some Peacock Paisley projects to inspire you :)

Take care x

Birds and Blooms Inspiration

Wishing you all a very good Sunday afternoon :)  It is a beautiful Spring like day here in Peterborough....it makes such a difference when the sun is shining don't you think?

I am busy working on the next collection which I will be bringing to Create and Craft on 26th February with a One Day Wonder....shush though as I don't think I am supposed to tell you hehe :)

Today I have decided to share a few cards with you using the Birds and Blooms Collection as I have so many and I haven't blogged only one of them.  So I won't be adding a tutorial as I usually do as it would be a very long post.  However if any of you have any questions on them please add it in the comments and I will get back to you:)

Isn't this a pretty collection :)  I love the dies and matching stamps as these are ones that I know I will use on many of my cards not just on cards/projects that I make with this collection.

Enjoy the rest of your Sunday :)

On Your Special Day Heartfelt Creations Tutorial

A very good morning to you all.  I hope you are all keeping well :)

I am again so very sorry that I haven't been around for a while.  I just wanted to give you all a heads up on a photographic tutorial that I have written for Heartfelt Creations which is over on the blog HERE  You may have seen this card shown on Create and Craft a few weeks ago....one of my favourite types of cards to make:)

I have made this card with a belly bar which holds the card together when closed.  The papers, stamp and dies are from the Romantique Garden collection and of course I have also incorporated the decorative border die from the Cut Mat Create die set 2A, which has become one of my all time favourites :)
I think this card would be great for a wedding or engagement card as you could incorporate a gift tag within the tag.

I will be back in the next few days with the launch of a Christmas special blog candy:) So until then take care:) x

It's Your Special Day Heartfelt Creations card

Hello everyone.  Another week almost over and I just can't believe we only have a couple of weeks and most of us will be putting our Christmas decorations up....I love Christmas and always like mine up for the 1st of December :) A little early for some I know, but I really do love to make the most of them:)

I am busy prepping for the CHA which I am very pleased that I will be attending again in January :) I can't wait to meet everyone from Heartfelt Creations and work alongside them on the booth.... exciting times ahead:)  I am not sure if I will be on Create and Craft before Christmas, but I will let you know if I get any dates.

I hope you are all well and would like to thank you all for emailing in the shows.  It is a shame that they only read a few out, but I did recognise some of the names although I don't always get a chance to say hi:)

Today I would like to share a card using the All Geared Up collection.

  • For this card I have used the All Geared Up die set, the Nuts and Bolts precut stamp set and one of the panels from the paper collection.
  • I stamped the image onto some black card using some specialist glue and used some Cosmic Shimmer glitter.  Very effective and no colouring involved.
  • I adhered the panel onto the card which measures approximately 4 1/2" x 5 1/2" .
  • I have ran some Cosmic shimmer glue down the edges of the card and added some of the glitter.
  • I die cut some of the cogs and sprockets in  a selection of silver, and black card and layered them up to create a flower.
  • I have also used one of the leave flourishes from the Cut Mat Create die set.
  • To finish off the card I have cut the sentiment from the paper collection and adhered it to the bottom right of the card with foam pads.
  • To finish off the card I have added some glitter to the sentiment and the flowers.
I will be back soon sharing some more gorgeous Heartfelt Creations collections, but until then take care everyone :) X

Heartfelt Creations Tag Card

Good morning everyone:)  I hope you are all doing well!
I can't believe it is Wednesday already and I am only uploading my first post of the week....on the plus side
you will all be amazed that I finally found the time to do a full tutorial and it is over on the Heartfelt Creations blog today:) I chose to share my criss cross tag card that I demo'd on Create and Craft back in September using the Classic Sunflower Collection.

  • To make the card base take 2 6” square card blanks. Cut diagonally from the score line on one of the cards down to the bottom corner. Do the same on the other card, but mirror the diagonal cut.  Adhere them on top of each other to create the criss cross card blank.
  • Die cut 4 decorative borders from the Cut Mat Create die set 2A using pale lemon card. Adhere 2 on each of the diagonals on the inside of the card (you will need to overlap them slightly for them to fit).
  • Choose some decorative paper and adhere to the inside of the card and also to the outside.  Cut a piece of Pale lemon card about 1” x5 1/2” and adhere some of the decorative paper on top measuring 3/4” x 5 1/4”.
  • Cut out the sentiment ‘Bloom Where You Are Planted’ from the paper pad and adhere this centrally onto the border.  Adhere the border (gluing only at each edge and along the bottom) about 1/4” from the bottom of the inside of the card.  This has now created a pocket for the tag to sit in.
  • Stamp and die cut the sunflowers onto cream card (I like to use cream as I think it is a good base to colour in with yellow). Using 2 or 3 medium flowers colour them using Scattered Straw and Wild Honey distress markers and a dove blender pen.  Use your ball tool on the petals until you get a desired effect. Layer the flower up to create one flower.  Stamp and die cut 2  leaves.  Close the card so that you can see where the card meets and adhere the leaves and flower to the centre of the front of the card.
  • Make an organza bow and add this just to the bottom left of the card. Using the small tag die from the Luggage and Tag die set cut out a tag from the paper collection. Adhere this so that it sits just under the bow.
  • To Create the Tag: Cut a piece of olive card measuring about 5” x 6 1/4" using a corner punch on the edges. Mat a piece of decorative paper from the paper collection again using a corner punch on the corners ( you can use the Cut Mat Create die sets to create your tag if you don’t want it quite as big as this one).
  • Using the 2A die set from the Cut Mat Create collection die cut out the panel with the Sunflowers in each corner as in picture.
  • Stamp the Bouquet Bucket onto cream or white card with Sepia Versafine ink and colour in with a dove blender pen and distress inks. Die cut out with a Spellbinder Classic Circle die and ink the edges with Scattered Straw Distress ink. Adhere this centrally onto the panel.
  • Die cut out 4 of the decorative corners from the Cut Mat Create die set 2B.  Adhere them at each corner from the back of the panel so that they sit as in picture.
  • Next adhere the panel about 3/4” from the bottom of the tag.
  • Die cut out another decorative border and adhere this at the top of the tag.
  • Cut out the sentiment ‘ Sending Sunny Thoughts your Way’ from the paper pad and mat onto some olive card.  Adhere this this centrally between the panel and the decorative border.
  • Turn the tag over.  Make a loop with the organza ribbon and adhere about 1” from the top of the tag as in picture.
  • Cut out the circle panel and adhere this to the centre of the tag.
  • Cut out the ‘Heavenly Sunshine’ sentiment from the paper pad and adhere this to the bottom of the tag.
  • Die cut out another decorative border and adhere this to the top of the tag.
  • Add some decorative pearls on string to the diagonals on the card, both inside and outside. Also add some to the tag and the pocket.
  • To finish add some Platinum Stickles glitter.
You can find the full list of the products that I have used over on the Heartfelt Creations blog HERE and of course you will also find lot's of inspiration from the very talented design team.

Heartfelt Creations - With Sympathy

Afternoon friends....well it is a very wet day here in Peterborough, so just a s well I am in the craft room and haven't any plans to go out in it:)

Just a quickie post today just to let you know that I am still about and also to update you on the  latest show dates on Create and Craft.
I will be back on screen on August the 26th 1pm and 5pm with the Festive Christmas collection and again on the 1st, 2nd,3rd, 4th September bringing you the September collection....can't believe I am saying September, this year has just gone by so quickly and I don't know about you, but so much has happen this year and if someone would have told me what I would be doing I would have had a good giggle and said 'in my dreams':)  It truly has been an amazing year for me although not without it's woes:(
I don't have the times yet for the September shows, but I will let you know as soon as I get confirmation.

So today I ave a Sympathy card to share with you. Sadly we are required to make these from time to time and it is with much sadness that we take on this task however knowing that they are so much appreciated by the recipient makes it so much better to be able to create.  I think this image is just so pretty and just adding a few die cuts and a small flower makes it a pretty, but not over the top card for this sad occasion.

  • The cute little bird image is from the  Birds and Blooms stamp set. I coloured it in using my Dove blender pen and distress inks. I have inked the edges with Tattered Rose Distress ink. I have die cut it out using the Cut Mat Create die sets.
  • I have used the lilac shades of paper from the Cut Mat Create paper collection.
  • I have used several of the beautiful lace like dies from the Cut Mat Create die sets just to add a little decoration without going over the top.
  • I stamped the 2 butterflies from the  same stamp set onto the patterned paper and fussy cut them out.
  • The Sympathy sentiment is again from the same stamp set.
  • The small flower is from the Sweet Lullaby Die set.
Don't forget you still have a few days to enter the blog candy to be in with a chance to win a Heartfelt Creations stamp of your choice and some crafting goodies just click on the link in the side bar.

I am off to Cadwell Park tomorrow to share my hubbies love of cars. I am sure it will be a fun day as I now know not to make the assumption that it isn't my kind of thing as I did with the Formula One at Silverstone however I am not so sure about this one, but as he has showed so much interest in my hobby(now job lol) and I still have quite a few jobs that I need finishing off in the craftroom I think I should just go and show him a little support too:) We are going with my sister and her family and taking my grandson Mason along so I think this will kind of make up for it if it really isn't my thing:)...,fingers crossed that it doesn't rain:)

Oh and before I go have you seen that Heartfelt Creations have a Design Team call out:)....I urge you all to give it a go!  The saying is you have to be in it to win yeh?  I wouldn't have  thought that I stood a chance and look at me now 18 months after joining this amazing company:) Click HERE for all the details.

I will be back soon take care x

New Blog Candy

A very good morning to you all.  I hope you are all having a fabulous weekend.
So sorry I have been a bad blogger just recently....I just wish we all had more hours in the day, don't you? I am busy working on something very exciting and I hope to be able to share this with you all very soon,.....so I have had to let my blog slip a little, but I hope to resume my more regular posts soon:)

New Blog Candy

Now I think it is time for me to launch another blog candy....this candy will run for 7 days so that you all have a chance to take part.
Just leave a comment on this blog post and you will be put in the random org draw to win a Heartfelt Creations stamp of your choice plus some other crafting goodies:)

Today's Card

  • To create this card I have used the Cut Mat Create collection.  The stamp is the beautiful  Classic Rose stamp. I have die cut it out with the die set 1B and 1A to create the easy mat and layer.
  • I have coloured the rose image in using a Dove Blender pen, Distress inks and also some Memento inks....this is a very easy way to colour in an image. I have added some Tea die ink to the outer edges of the image and also to the outside of the main card.
  • I have Used one of the decorative panels from the Cut Mat Create paper collection and adhered this to my card and then adhered the mat and layer image to the centre.
  • The decorative borders that I have used are from the 2A die set.
  • Next I stamped the 'Thank You' sentiment which is from the Summer Glory stamp set, cut it out and adhered this to the bottom right of the card.
  • I have added a couple of the die cut vines from die set 1B and a small Arianna Bloom flower to the sentiment.
  • Finally I have added a small pink bow and a little Stickles Glitter.
I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend:)

My visit to Wales and Some Scrapbook Layout Inspiration

Afternoon fellow blogging friends!  I hope you are all well and you have had a good start to the beginning of the week.
I had an amazing time at Dandie Crafts and met some wonderful crafters:) I was assisted by my crafting friend Vicky who did an amazing job die cutting extra flowers and flourishes for my afternoon demos:) Thank you everyone who made my trip to Wales a very memorable one and a big thank you to Mandy for your hospitality during my visit.....I hope to meet Debbie on my next visit:) (ummm assuming that I will be invited back)

So that was my weekend and I am now back in the craft room covered in glitter as I am prepping for 2 possible Christmas shows this Wednesday......this will not be confirmed until late Tuesday possibly even Wednesday morning! Don't you just love it when all your plans go out of the window ......I was planning on making a start on Septembers shows:) But hey as long as it is crafting I don't care:)

Now for todays project....I thought I would share a few of the Heartfelt Creations Cut Mat Create scrapbook layouts. If you watched the shows and have been over onto the Heartfelt Creations blog you will know that the concept of this collection is that you can easily and quickly create a scrapbook layout using the dies. You can use all 4 sets which will allow you to fill your page with photos or as I have done on these layouts use just a few of the mat and layer dies. You also get decorative flourishes in with the die sets.
The 1st set is set 2B, 2nd set is 2A, 3rd set is 1B and the 4th set is 1A
Cut Mat Create 2B Die Cut Mat Create 2A DieCut Mat Create 1B DieCut Mat Create 1A Die
For more details on the concept please visit the Heartfelt Creations blog HERE

On this first layout I have also used a selection of the stamps that also are part of the Cut Mat Create collection:

  • I have chosen the beautiful dusky pink floral paper  for my layout which is from the cut Mat Create paper collection.
  • I have used 1B and 1A die sets to create the mats and layers for the photos and I have used the 2B and 2A sets also for the decorative vines/borders and flourishes.
  • The stamp sets that I have used are Birds and Blooms and Vines and Blooms. I fussy cut one of the butterflies out and added this to the corner of the stamped sentiment.
  • To high light the birds on the border I have added a little stickles glitter.
  • The flowers are from the Sweet Lullaby die set.
  • To finish off the layout I have added some flower pearls on a string from The Hobby House.
  • The 2 beautiful girls in the photos are my daughter Sophie being hugged by her friend Kelly:)
I have used a photo of my son Jordan and his girlfriend Lydia at there school leaving prom:)

  •  The dies I have used both the 2 and 1 sets to create the mat and layers for the photos and also for the decorative flourishes/vines and border.
  • I have used the border from the Vines and Blooms stamp set to create a frame around the main picture...you can just see it. I stamped it black just to bring the black from Jordan's suit into the layout.
  • I have used the flowers from the Sweet Lullaby Die set again in this layout.
  • I have also cut out a couple of the sentiments from the papers and added these to my layout as well as adding a little journaling.
  • The lilac floral paper is from the Cut Mat Create paper collection.
  • To finish off the layout I have added some deep purple and lilac pearls, a little stickles glitter and some cream lace.

On this final layout is my friend Vicky's daughter Abbie who was more than willing to do a little photo shoot in my garden a few weeks ago:)

  •  I have distressed the edges of the papers on the layout using a Tim Holtz distress tool.
  • The papers are from the Cut Mat Create paper collection.
  • So again using both the set 1 and set 2 die sets I have created the photo mats.
  • I have again also used the decorative die elements from the die sets.
  • The flowers are from the Sweet Lullaby die set.
  • I have cut out the 'cherish' sentiment from the paper collection and also added some lace and pearls.
  • I have decorated the layout with some cream lace and some flower pearls on string from The Hobby House.
  • To finish off I have of course added a little Stickles Glitter:)
Woohooo! finished:)..... I hope I have inspired those of you that are not into scrapbooking to maybe create a layout. Using these dies it is super quick and  I think that matting your photos onto co-ordinating card really does make your layouts look professional. Also don't just think of layouts being in a scrapbook tucked away....I make mine and use them as home décor: They make great presents too:)

I will be back tomorrow with a card that I plan to demo on Wednesday.....well that's if the shows go ahead:) I will keep you informed!

Take Care x

Thinking of You Today - Heartfelt Creations Easel Card

A very good evening to you all!  It has been a few days since I last blogged so apologies if you were wondering where I had gone:) I have just had a few family days and basically just chilling with the hubby in the evenings. Today I have been busy finishing prepping for Saturdays demonstration  at Dandie Crafts in Wales....still a little more to do as the sunshine kept calling me out of my log cabin lol.
However I thought I had better come and say hello:) and share another Cut Mat Create card as it is of course Heartfelt Creations Wednesday.  So if you haven't already been over and checked out the extremely inspiring blog which is full of new projects that the Design Team have created you will find it HERE

Now to my card for today....now I know that the Cut Mat Create dies were specifically designed for scrapbooking as myself and Emma Lou showed you on the shows ....they are so much more and although I do have some scrapbook layouts to share still I thought I would choose this butterfly easel creation.

  • I have made a simple easel card with a 5 3/4" square base card in white and distressed the edges with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • I cut a square piece of deep blue script patterned paper from the paper collection and adhered this to the main part of the card.
  • Next I chose the circle panel, cut it out, distress it with Tea Dye ink and adhered this to the card with 3D foam pads.
  • I stamped the butterfly stamp from the Summer Glory precut stamp set using Versafine Vintage Sepia ink and coloured it in using a blender pen and Distress inks. I also added the Tea Dye ink to the edges.
  • I fussy cut the image out and adhered it to the card at an angle just off centre. I only adhered a little in the centre of the image so that the it is just coming off the page slightly to add a little interest.
  • Next I stamped the sentiment which is from the same stamp set and cut it out and adhered to the bottom of the circle with 3D foam pads.
  • I next cut another panel of the dark blue script paper which measures 5 1/4" square and adhered it to the bottom part of the card.
  • I have then cut a strip of the blue flower patterned paper measuring 5 1/4" x 1" and adhered this to the card to create the stopper so that the easel card stays upright.
  • Next I have added a strip of decorative pearls from the Hobby House to the strip.
  • I have die cut 2 of the decorative lacy borders from the Cut Mat Create 2A die set and adhered one to the top of the circle panel and one just underneath the strip on the bottom part of the card. I cut them out in white card and distressed them a little with Tea Dye Distress Ink.
  • Next I die cut 2 of the small vine leaves again from the Cut Mat Create 2 A die set and again also in white distressing with the Tea Dye ink. I have adhered these opposite each other on the centre of the strip.
  • I next die cut the flowers from the Sweet Lullaby collection in white and also added some Tea Dye too.
  • To finish the card I have added a little Stickles glitter and pale blue pearls.
Ummm that was a rather long tutorial for what was actually one of my quicker cards to make.....which took about an hour to create. The longest part being the colouring. However since using the blender pens I really am finding it much quicker to colour an image.

If any of you are going to be coming to Dandie Crafts on Saturday this is one of my planned demos, but I will being creating it with a purple theme rather than the blue:) Talking of which...I must get cracking and finish those demos:)

I hope you all enjoy the rest of this beautiful sunny day:)

Heartfelt Creations - Butterfly Thank You Card

Hi fellow bloggers......So have you all been doing much crafting lately? I usually find that in the summer months I don't do quite as much as I do in the dark winter months.  So much more going on in the summer and definitely more jobs around the garden need attending too....although mine is looking rather neglected at the moment:(  I am obviously doing a lot more crafting than usual with all the shows I have had just lately and yesterday I got completely thrown in at the deep end lol.....I think it showed in my demos...as normally I spend about 2 weeks making samples and 2 days to prep the demos! Yesterday's demos I only had a few hours to prep, but I hope I still managed to inspire you all.

My card I would like to share today is another from the Cut Mat Create collection. This is also one of the cards that I demo'd yesterday, but yesterdays I used a different stamp for the background.

  • The base card measures 5 3/4" square.
  • I have randomly stamped the butterfly stamp from the Birds and Blooms stamp set (I used the small floral stamp from the Everyday Blooms stamp set on the demo card).
  • I have inked around the card with Tea Dye Distress ink...if you are stamping the butterflies with a water based ink they may run so make sure they are completely dry before doing this.
  • I stamped the butterfly image using VersaFine Sepia ink and coloured it in using distress inks and the blender pen which I have been using on the shows (I am hoping to have these in stock on the website...which I promise will be coming soon) I stamped it twice and fussy cut out the butterfly and added this on top of the one on the main image just along the centre to add some dimension.
  • I cut the image out with one of the Cut Mat Create dies - 1B
  • The flower is from the Sweet Lullaby Die set and the flourishes are from 1A and 2B
  • I have added some tiny pearls to the centre of the tiny flowers on the butterfly image.
  • Finally I stamped the sentiment again using VersaFine - Sepia ink and inked the edges with the Tea Dye distress ink, cut it out and added it to the card with some foam pads.
  • The flower is from the Sweet Lullaby Die set and the flourishes are from 1A and 2B
That's all from me today now back to my Christmas cards for Tuesdays show....I am thinking lot's of glitter:)

Take Care:) x
