Heartfelt Creations Tag Card

Good morning everyone:)  I hope you are all doing well!
I can't believe it is Wednesday already and I am only uploading my first post of the week....on the plus side
you will all be amazed that I finally found the time to do a full tutorial and it is over on the Heartfelt Creations blog today:) I chose to share my criss cross tag card that I demo'd on Create and Craft back in September using the Classic Sunflower Collection.

  • To make the card base take 2 6” square card blanks. Cut diagonally from the score line on one of the cards down to the bottom corner. Do the same on the other card, but mirror the diagonal cut.  Adhere them on top of each other to create the criss cross card blank.
  • Die cut 4 decorative borders from the Cut Mat Create die set 2A using pale lemon card. Adhere 2 on each of the diagonals on the inside of the card (you will need to overlap them slightly for them to fit).
  • Choose some decorative paper and adhere to the inside of the card and also to the outside.  Cut a piece of Pale lemon card about 1” x5 1/2” and adhere some of the decorative paper on top measuring 3/4” x 5 1/4”.
  • Cut out the sentiment ‘Bloom Where You Are Planted’ from the paper pad and adhere this centrally onto the border.  Adhere the border (gluing only at each edge and along the bottom) about 1/4” from the bottom of the inside of the card.  This has now created a pocket for the tag to sit in.
  • Stamp and die cut the sunflowers onto cream card (I like to use cream as I think it is a good base to colour in with yellow). Using 2 or 3 medium flowers colour them using Scattered Straw and Wild Honey distress markers and a dove blender pen.  Use your ball tool on the petals until you get a desired effect. Layer the flower up to create one flower.  Stamp and die cut 2  leaves.  Close the card so that you can see where the card meets and adhere the leaves and flower to the centre of the front of the card.
  • Make an organza bow and add this just to the bottom left of the card. Using the small tag die from the Luggage and Tag die set cut out a tag from the paper collection. Adhere this so that it sits just under the bow.
  • To Create the Tag: Cut a piece of olive card measuring about 5” x 6 1/4" using a corner punch on the edges. Mat a piece of decorative paper from the paper collection again using a corner punch on the corners ( you can use the Cut Mat Create die sets to create your tag if you don’t want it quite as big as this one).
  • Using the 2A die set from the Cut Mat Create collection die cut out the panel with the Sunflowers in each corner as in picture.
  • Stamp the Bouquet Bucket onto cream or white card with Sepia Versafine ink and colour in with a dove blender pen and distress inks. Die cut out with a Spellbinder Classic Circle die and ink the edges with Scattered Straw Distress ink. Adhere this centrally onto the panel.
  • Die cut out 4 of the decorative corners from the Cut Mat Create die set 2B.  Adhere them at each corner from the back of the panel so that they sit as in picture.
  • Next adhere the panel about 3/4” from the bottom of the tag.
  • Die cut out another decorative border and adhere this at the top of the tag.
  • Cut out the sentiment ‘ Sending Sunny Thoughts your Way’ from the paper pad and mat onto some olive card.  Adhere this this centrally between the panel and the decorative border.
  • Turn the tag over.  Make a loop with the organza ribbon and adhere about 1” from the top of the tag as in picture.
  • Cut out the circle panel and adhere this to the centre of the tag.
  • Cut out the ‘Heavenly Sunshine’ sentiment from the paper pad and adhere this to the bottom of the tag.
  • Die cut out another decorative border and adhere this to the top of the tag.
  • Add some decorative pearls on string to the diagonals on the card, both inside and outside. Also add some to the tag and the pocket.
  • To finish add some Platinum Stickles glitter.
You can find the full list of the products that I have used over on the Heartfelt Creations blog HERE and of course you will also find lot's of inspiration from the very talented design team.

Wishing You Sunny Days

Evening everyone....I hope you have all had a great weekend.

Sorry I have been a little quiet....with the TV shows and my mini holiday I just haven't found the time:(
I am now working on the October shows.  So rather than disappoint you all I have decided that I will do a post more regularly, but rather than do a full tutorial I will just add a list of items that I have used.  For the more detailed card/project I will still try to do a mini tutorial. However if any of you have a question on how I have done something then by all means just add your question in the comment box and I will answer it.  It may not be straight away, but I do try and check my blog a few times a day.

Blog Candy Winner and Sunflower Tissue Box Inspiration

Evening everyone. I hope you are all having a good weekend:) If you follow me on Facebook then you will know that I am having a few days away.  We have driven to the Alps with a detour around the Nurburgring. The scenery has been breath taking to say the least:)

Blog Candy Winner

So as promised I have chosen the Blog Candy Winner by random org..... :)
The winner of the chalkboard card, a Heartfelt Creations stamp and some crafting goodies is........................................ Fern Dunsmore.....Congratulations Fern:) It may be a few days before I get back to you, but if you email me your details I will get your blog candy together and post it off to you.

Today's Inspiration

This is the Tissue box that I made using the 6" paper panels from the paper.

  • The Tissue box is one that I picked up from Ally Pally last year.
  • I have painted the edges with Distress ink using weathered Wood
  • I have chosen the panels so that each side has something interesting on it.
  • When I cover my MDF projects, when possible I adhere the paper before cutting and then cut round the edge with a knife,
  • I have adhered the paper to the lid and edges turning the lid upside down and cutting the opening out.
  • Next I have die cut the decorative circle out adhered it over the opening and again turned the lid upside down and cut the opening out with a knife,
  • I have added some lace around the opening adhering it from the inside.
  • I have die cut 4 decorative borders from the Cut Mat Create collection and add these to the sides of the lid.
  • I have stamped and die cut lot's of the Sunflowers...stamping them in the Vintage Sepia Versafine ink onto cream card and colouring in with Distress Markers - Wild Honey and Spiced Marmalade.
  • I have added these to the box cascading them from the lid down the side as you can see in the photo. I have also added some leaves and some of the flourish leaves from the Cut Mat Create die collections.
  • Although there isn't a specific front to the box I have added a flower on the side that I have used the Sunflower stem paper panel on and also a bow.
  • To finish off the tissue box I have added some Hobby House string pearls and some Platinum Stickles glitter on the edges and on the Sunflowers,
  • Oops nearly forgot the feet... I think these just finish the box off. These ones that I have used are from The Hobby House.....which when I get time to finish, on my website along with all the other Hobby House embellishments:)
I had better finish off here as I have an early start:)
Take Care:) x

My Sunshine

Evening everyone...I hope you are al well?
Just a quick post as I have a few minutes spare before my show.

I thought I would share a card with you using the Sunflower Patch stamp.

  • I have stamped the image and coloured it in with distress markers.....can you see that I have stamped it wonky:) This was of course a happy accident as it now looks like the sunflowers are swaying in the wind.
  • I have matted the image onto blue card stock (I have die cut both the image and blue card stock using the Cut Mat Create collection) and then chosen a panel from the paper pad and matted it onto it.
  • Next I chose the check patterned paper from the paper pad and matted it onto my main card base.
  • I have added some Sunflowers which I stamped and die cut onto yellow paper. Also adding some yellow flourish leaves again from the Cut Mat Create collection and some Classic leaves.
  • I have added the sentiment from the paper collection to the top left hand side of the card.
  • The decorative border is also from the Cut Mat Create collection.
Oooh that was a quick post:)
Must dash, but I will be back soon for some more Sunflower Inspiration:)
Hope you are liking the shows?

Cascading Sunflower Drawers

A very good afternoon to you all. I hope you are all having a good day:)
Well I am now on day 2 of the 4 Day Deal and I really am having a fun time...if you watched this mornings show with Dean you would have seen that Dean put me on the spot with the reading of the emails.... what did you think to my presenting skills? ummm I think I had better stick to the crafting :)

Thank you for all of your emails. I have been overwhelmed by your support and well done to those of you that have won a card:)

So today I am going to share the altered drawers with you...After making my 20th + card I really needed to create something a little different and these drawers have been sitting in my craft room for almost a year. This collection is great for a project like this:) This project got my crafting mojo back on track.

  • Before adding any paper or embellishments I painted the drawers with some distress stain. I didn't add any undercoat as you can only see the edges.
  • I purposely chose the papers so that the middle drawers had the flowers on them and the others 2 were matching. For the lid I have used one of the panels from the paper collection with the cockerel on and cut it to fit.....unfortunately I don't have a picture on my laptop, but I will add a picture with a top view tomorrow so that you can take a look at what I mean.
  • I have used the decorative border die from the Cut Mat Create collection to add some detail to the fronts of the card. I have also added one on each side.
  • To decorate I have added some Hobby House pearls on string and some cream lace.
  • Next  I added the drawer handles which are also from The Hobby House.
  • I have of course added lot's of gorgeous sunflowers cascading them down the drawers. I have added some seed beads in the centre using Pinflair glue gel.  The leaves and flourishes are of course also Heartfelt Creations.
  • To finish I have added some Stickles glitter - Platinum around the edges of the paper.
I hope this has inspired you to create something a little different:)

Classic Sunflower Sneak Peek

Good morning friends....so how is your week going? Over here in the UK the summer holidays are coming towards the end and the children are preparing to go back to school:) It is a real shame that the weather hasn't been kind to us, but you can guarantee that once they are all back at school that we will have a heat wave lol

Apologies for those of you that were waiting for the 2nd show on Tuesday....there just wasn't enough of the stock so they had to cancel it and replace it with the Scan N Cut show. Unfortunately the emails were not coming through either so I didn't get to give away the chalkboard effect card that I demo'd so I will be doing a giveaway for this card tomorrow.....I just need to take a photo of the card and I also had promised you all a sneak peek today of the September Collection which is called Classic Sunflower.  So if all goes to plan I will do a post tomorrow with the Chalkboard card and also a blog giveaway tomorrow:)

If you follow the Heartfelt Creations blog and Facebook page you may have already seen a sneak peek of this beautiful collection which is full of Sunflower Splendor:)  This collection takes me back to the end of the 90's when I had a pine kitchen and I had sunflowers stenciled in a border along the top of the wall and baskets of dried flowers and artificial sunflowers dotted around the house.....Do you remember the days when dried flowers were all the rage....I even had bunches hanging from the kitchen ceiling! Now I come to think of it they really were rather unhygienic:)  So this collection has taken me on a trip down  memory lane so I really am loving this collection:)
The collection comprises of 6 stamp sets which include sunflowers, hens, butterflies and verses, a die that you can cut out 11 sunflowers out all in one and of course a beautiful 12"x12" paper pad.

Classic Sunflower Sneak Peek

So here is your sneak peek - This card is using the Sunflower Stem precut stamp set - HCPC 3627 which also includes a butterfly, a small verse and some sunflower seeds

  • On some of my samples as with this sunflower I have made my sunflowers a little vintage colouring them in using Distress Markers. I also find that I can colour in much quicker using these!
  • So I stamped and coloured in the sunflower onto cream card and die cut it out with Spellbinder Ovals.
  • I have chosen a decorative panel from the paper collection and used the Tim Holtz distress tool to distress the edges.  If you don't have one of these you can use the edge of your scissors or a knife. I have matted the panel onto some dusky pale blue card (also distressed the edges) and adhered it to my cream card base which measures about 7" square.
  • I have also distressed the edges of the main card and also used some Tea Dye distress ink.
  • Next I die cut out the Spellbinder Elegant Oval in the dusky blue card and matted my sunflower image onto it. I have added some lace across the card before adhering it to the left hand side of the card.
  • I have stamped and die cut the Classic Sunflowers - You can use this stamp as a background stamp, but you can also use it with the Co-ordinating die which gives you 11 individual sunflowers in various sizes, some sunflower seeds and also 2 cute little ladybirds (lady bugs if you are from the USA). I have stamped it onto a mustard yellow card stock and then used my distress ink - Tea Dye to add a little more detail.
  • I have die cut out 2 flourishes from the Spellbinder die set Jewel Flowers and Flourishes in the mustard yellow card stock and die cut some Leaves from the Heartfelt Creations Classic Leaf die set and co-ordinating stamp.
  • I have adhered the sunflower, flourishes and leaves to the card adding a bow and tag from the paper collection.
  • To finish off the card I have added some cream Hobby House decorative pearls on string.
So what do you think to this collection so far? I have lot's more inspiration to share with you all including cards, scrapbook layouts, and some altered mdf items! This really has been a gorgeous collection to work with:)
As I said tomorrow I will post the Blackboard effect Christmas card with a blog candy giveaway and then hopefully over the weekend I will share some more sneaky peeks before my show on Monday.
Ooooh so much to do and a class on Saturday where we will be making a Christmas Lantern...I will share pictures of this tomorrow too:) The Lantern was inspired by one that my fellow teamie Joann Jamieson-Larkin who makes some amazing 3D projects.

Now I really must leave it there as I still have more samples to make for next weeks show.....I am on project 30 and have already 22 cards prepped ready to demo! Not sure that this will be enough so I may do a few more quickie ones just in case:)  This will be my first 4Day Deal so I really am extra excited about this collection:).....can you tell:)
