A very good morning to you all:) I hope you are all well on this glorious Wednesday!
Today I would like to share one of my favourite cards that I made using Celebrate the Journey collection. I also demo'd this one on the Heartfelt Creations show with Emma Lou.....Well ok I made a very similar card LOL! It is one thing that I still haven't got used to...having to talk to the presenter (in Dean's case usually not about the actual card) and also make the card! I am sure in time it is something that I will be able to get use too:)
Unfortunately my card today isn't on the Heartfelt Creations website, but please do hop on over and take a look at all the creations that the DT have made....as always you won't be disappointed:)
- The main card blank measures 7" square which I made using some Kraft card.
- I have distressed all the edges and added some Tea Dye distress ink.
- I chose some blue patterned paper from the Celebrate the Journey collection and matted this onto some brown card, which I then adhered to the main card.
- I have used lot's of elements from this collection, starting with the suitcase, some stamped elements and also some tags from the papers.
- I stamped the map and tore it into 4 strips. I have aged the map using Tea Dye and Walnut stain distress inks. I rolled 3 of the strips up and tied with some twine. The 4th and largest of the strips I have added so that it looks like it is kind of falling out of the suitcase.
- Finally I have added a vintage brass charm.
I just love the suitcase and for those of you that didn't see the show it is so versatile..... you can even make it into a little handbag....which I will be sharing with you in the May collection:).....my lips are sealed, but I know you will just love this collection. I haven't had any confirmed dates from Create and Craft yet but I will post the date and times as soon as I here anything:)
Take care everyone and enjoy the rest of your day:) x
Oh, and thank you Sam Smithard for bringing to my attention that my Pinterest buttons have disappeared! Not sure where they have gone....maybe on vacation lol, but I will get this sorted later today:) x
Afternoon Nikki. From a dull grey cloudy sky in Bolton, to a card that makes me wish I was packing a holiday case this year as id really really love some hot sun and blue cloudless sky with a sandy beach, clear sea, sunbed (with parasol) and book.... Hohum I can dream !
ReplyDeleteI watched you make a similar card last week and though wow what a fantastic set, what a shame I cant afford.the whole lot, will have to try and pick the most useful elements and start collecting and saving. Have summer markets on the horizon and lucky people are always emigrating so what a valuable set of goodies to get or what ? Dean is a very enthusiastic presenter, whereas Martin took over a few shows recently going on about when he went to the States etc which means you ladies have even less time to explain to US novices how you acheived your wonderful work of art !
Oh well, thats me done, off to add a few bits to my need/want list that I conveniently forget to hide !!! One way of dropping hints lol.
Hope you have a good day Nikki, looking forward to your next card and hi to all other Nikkets that follow me : )
Hugs all round.

Hi Nikki
ReplyDeleteAnother stunning card today. I recorded your shows with Emma Lou, and you all had such stunning cards that I've kept them for future reference. The recordings not the cards. But I can wish can't I. Thanks lancs Steph for calling us the Nikkets. Such a lovely name. Glad you weren't with Dawn Bibby, as she talks over the demonstrator and never lets them get a word in edgeways.
Hi Nikki

Morning Nikki, Thank you, Thank you, Thank you, for showing this demo'd card, I really loved watching you make this, and can't wait to try this card. It is beautiful, your design is amazing. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteI honestly don't know how you cope with the 'banter' of the presenters, whilst still trying to demo a card, my hat goes off to you, Nikki.
Lots of love from Patricia xx
What an amazing card!! I think I looked at it for 15 minutes trying to take in all of the elements that make up the card. Beautifully put together. Some of the elements, like the way you did the maps, are ingenious. What a design talent you have.
ReplyDeleteI look forward to each and every one of your posts.
Hi Nikki, Another Truly Stunning Card, you are extremley talented, I understand it must be very difficult when your on Create and Craft as you need to show the Product on there but certain Presenters go on and on, why don't they show the product then let you guys do your Demo's it's so frustrating for us, anyway Nikki Awesome Card as always!
ReplyDeleteTake Care Love and Hugs from Sam x
