It's your Special Day Masculine card
Evening everyone...a late post from me today, but better late than never:)
Firstly thank you all so much for your very kind comments yesterday... Sending crafty hugs to each and everyone of you :) x
Today I have been moving some of my craft bits back into the house. Although I love it in my log cabin (which still isn't finished yet), now the darker nights are here it is easier for me to help look after the grandchildren if I do a little crafting in the house. So we have made room in the sun lounge for a desk so that I can have the best of both worlds:) So in between the rain showers I have managed to make a nice crafty space in the house again...not sure how long it will be before I begin to take over the kitchen as well though:)
New Blog Candy
So who wants the chance to win another Heartfelt Creations stamp of your choice? Also as I haven't done a blog candy for a few weeks I am also going to give away a Heartfelt Creations paper pad as well as some gorgeous Hobby House goodies and some crafty stash:) All you have to do is add your name in the comments below and I will enter you in the random draw and announce the winner next Wednesday:)
Today's card is again using the new Heartfelt Creations All Geared up Collection.
- I have given this card a shabby look by using the Tim Holtz distress tool on all the papers.
- I chose the teal papers from the paper collection and die cut out a selection of the cogs, sprockets and leaves in some gold miri board. I have also sanded them and inked them with Tea Dye distress ink to give them a rusty look.
- I have stamped the background stamp onto some dark grey textured card.
- The leave flourish is from the Cut Mat Create die set.
- I have added the border which is from the paper collection and also the sentiment.
- To finish off the card I have added some Hobby House pearl brads.
This is a nice masculine card which isn't over fussy I think, but by adding a bow and creating flowers with the cogs and sprockets I think you could easily make this more feminine.
I will be back soon with some more inspiration:)
Take Care x
Gorgeous , love the style of this. I would love a crafty log cabin xx
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki great card for the males and as you say easily adapted with flowers for a feminine feel. I think it's more practical to come inside for the winter, but it sounds lovely crafting in a log cabin with snow all around.x
ReplyDeleteLove your masculine card, it is so stunning! Thanks for the chance to win your candy.
ReplyDeleteWow NIcki those cogs look like metal......great card for a male and as you say not too fussy.
ReplyDeleteGreat man card Nikki, especially for someone who's not into sport.
ReplyDeleteAfternoon Nikki, I love it !! even cogs, gears and sprockets can be made 'girlie', this collection is so versatile, ideal for a 'boy' or a 'girlie' !!
ReplyDeleteLots of love from Patricia xx
Hi Nikki, I have found a whole new appreciation of Heartfelt Creations products since I first saw you on C & C......and because of you I have to have every collection since!!. Beautiful card .....I
ReplyDeletelove the versatility of this collection in particular.....suitable for everyone.

Fab male card but in different colours it would be great for the girls too. I love the distressed look, really beautiful. Pat x
ReplyDeleteGreat card and I love the colours on this one. I'm not too good with a distressing tool. Either I over-do it or it looks as though I've used dog-eared paper! All Geared Up is a great collection.
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful!!!!!
ReplyDeleteFab card Nicki, I can't wait to get my gear die
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki
ReplyDeleteBeautiful card! This is a lovely collection (but then, aren't they all!). Such a good set of dies, stamps and paper to make cards for our men! You showed some lovely samples on C&C recently. I'd love to see some more on your blog. Best wishes, Anne O
Hi Nikki, lovely card again, you are a real crafting star. Best Wishes Lilian
ReplyDeleteThe more i see of this set the more i like it, a great man card i just love it well done Take care Elaine H X
ReplyDeleteEvening Nikki, I really like this card and the more examples I see the more I am leaning towards investing in this All Geared Up set especially for men's cards. I imagine the log cabin is getting a bit chilly in the day time now as well especially with all the damp weather we have had recently. I'm off into hospital next Monday for an operation so won't be commenting for a bit but hope to only be in a few days so if I disappear I will be back commenting in a short while.
ReplyDeleteWow, love this card, I really like the way you have done the cogs, so effective, will try this with the once upon a time set. Thanks for the inspiration. Take care, xx
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki
ReplyDeleteGreat card for a man, never tried the distressed look as I'm a bit of a neat freak but this has inspired me to give it a go.
Best wishes, Pat
love the card Nikki, got your programmes which I recorded then I can keep going back to them, glad you are nearly settled in your crafty cabin, it is good to have an alternative though, thus getting the best of both worlds, xx
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki
ReplyDeleteLove this style of card especially for a man. They are so hard to cater for especially if they aren't sporty. Just a fantastic collection. I've recorded your show as usual. Glad your log cabin is nearly finished, but is it warmer in the house now the colder weather is hear, or was it heated. Thanks for the chance to win some goodies.
Hi Nikki,
ReplyDeleteI think this collection is prefect for the men. I love this card and you are my favourite demonstrator as I adore your style and inspirations. Love to win something as that would make my day. Lots of love, Ivy Ling xx

ReplyDeleteHi Nikki love the cards in this collection, the colours in this card are lovely, I really want this heartfelt geared up set, glad you are back with us, take care vanessa xx
ReplyDeleteI struggle with ideas for male cards. I like how I could use elements of this even though I don't have the same cog dies. Thanks for the inspiration NIkki.
ReplyDeleteThis is a lovely collection from Heartfelt Creations and your samples are great for both male and female cards. Thanks for all your wonderful ideas.
ReplyDeleteVictoria
As usual a gorgeous collection from Heartfelt and a fabulous card from Nikki. The cogs are so versatile. Thanks for your inspiration.
ReplyDeleteLovely samples but with a difference. x
ReplyDeleteWow, Nikki! The metal gears on this card are just fabulous! What a beautiful piece!
ReplyDeleteHi Nikki.
ReplyDeleteSensible thinking, stay in the warm now and enjoy your little log cabin during the spring and summer months, how id love the choice, but how much would my health dislike a chiily craft cabin, never mind, I never claimed to be normal lol !
Im probably one of few that arn't into steampunk, but for those like yourself that are brilliant at putting it together its brilliant.
Hope everyone is ok.
Hugs.
