Firstly I would like to thank everyone for there patience on the Journey Album tutorial links....we had a few hiccups with the links, but finally sorted it out. So if you have purchased it and am awaiting your links then the email address that I need is the same one as you use for your Google account or I can use your username.
For those of you that are still awaiting delivery of your Album kit then this will be posted out to you tomorrow so you should have it by Saturday or Monday the latest I would think as I post them out first class with Royal Mail.  I will also send you your links tomorrow.

 Decorative Arianna Bloom Box

I still have quite a few cards/projects from the Arianna show and am finding it really difficult to decide which to share with you next!  So today I thought I would share the box that I made.....I would like to say it is a quick make and I know what you all think when I say this, but for a box it really was a quick make.  Another thing I find you thinking is, so what does Nikki class as a quick make....well on average it takes me about 2 hours to complete a card and 3 Hours if it is stamped and coloured and quite a bit of die cutting involved.  When it comes to flowers I like to have a stash ready die cut in my most used colours and I always have a plastic tub of the Classic Leaves from Heartfelt Creations. I also have tub with die cut flourishes in.  I find by doing this it is much quicker to make a project.

So for this box I made the basic box using the Crafters Companion Ultimate Pro Boxer....This is such a quick and easy product to use (in my opinion).

  • I started with the base which is a 12" x 12" piece of pink card and made up the box....I do plan on doing a tutorial on a box soon.
  • I used the decorative pink /green paper from the Arianna collection and used the 4 corners and cut them 3 1/2" square. I adhered these to each side of the box.
  • On one of the sides I added a Arianna Bloom flower and a classic leaf which I stamped and die cut out. I also cut the 'My Wish For You' sentiment individually and adhered these to it with foam pads.
  • Next I made the box lid using a piece of 6" square card.....using the boxer the measurements which are already done so when you score it the box lid will fit nicely onto the box base.
  • I cut the Bird Haven image from the papers cutting it 3 1/2" square and adhered this with foam pads to the box lid.
  • I used some small Arianna Bloom flowers and adhered these over the flowers on the image. I also added a few leaves and flourishes from the Arianna Lace die set.
  • Next I die cut 2 of the Arianna Lace decorative elements, cut them in half and adhered one to the inside of each side of the box lid so the decorative part is hanging loosely to create a decorative fringe.
  • I added some satin pink ribbon around the bottom edge of lid. I also cut the pretty floral border from the papers and added this. As a finishing touch I added some pearls on string.
  • To finish off the lid I have added a pink organza bow with a flower gem from The Hobby House.
  • I have used some flower soft on the box as well as a little Stickles glitter to complete the card.
I think this box took me about 1 hour 15mins to make so it really was a quick project to make.
I hope this has made a change from seeing a card:)

Don't forget I still have the Blog Candy running!

Take Care X

This box is gorgeous and has given me ideas for tissue boxes as gifts at Christmas time always useful to have one in as a standby for that unexpected gift! You have decorated it beautifully and the paper pads are great for this. Lovely.

  15. What a lovely box. I've never attempted one before - a bit (to say the least) daunting. I can hardly believe it only took you 1 hour and 15 mins. I think I should start making/cutting flowers and things to keep ready. It certainly would save time. Have a lovely weekend.

  17. Yes, saying this was a quick make made me giggle, it certainly doesn't look like it as the end result is simply stunning! Having some bits and bobs prepped ready must help though; that's a really fab idea :-)
