Scrapbook Layout Inspiration

A very good morning  everyone! It has been a few days since I last blogged:(
.....Saturday was my grandsons 4th birthday (Ollie who is in my layout below), so we had a family day and yesterday I was up at the crack of dawn travelling  down to Gravesend to spend the day with some very nice ladies for 2 classes at Christine Emberson's studio - Hope & Chances:) We made the criss cross card with a tag that I featured on my blog on Thursday.....both classes were so much fun and I hope the ladies all went away inspired:) They did an amazing job including making the gorgeous roses that I use on my cards!

I decided to share one of my scrapbook layouts with you today, hoping to inspire all of you card makers to maybe create one:).....The precious little ones are my granddaughter Amelia and my cheeky little grandson Ollie:)x

  • For this layout I have used the of the sheet from the Once Upon a Time collection which has been specifically designed for a layout....however you can still use it  for cards and other projects!
  • I have used the layout design which is already on the paper, but turned it around.
  • I added my photos first and then added a length of pearls down the lace design on the paper.
  • I have used the Timeless Clock stamp set and Time Sentiments stamp set which I stamped onto cream card with Versamark ink and heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer black detail embossing powder. I added a little Tea Dye Distress ink to distress them a little.
  • The flowers are the Majestic Morning Blooms which I have stamped onto some patterned paper from the Once Upon a Time collection. I just added these where the flowers were on the paper and added one large one where the sentiment was on the paper....which was now upside down as I turned the paper around.
  • I added a few of the foliage swirls from the Gift Ensemble die set.
  • I cut the tag also from the collection and also added this to the layout.
  • I have just added a small amount of stickles around the photos and a few pearls to finish off the layout!
So have I inspired you? .....The Heartfelt Creations papers are perfect for those of you that would love to give scrapbooking a go:)

Now I must get back to my crafting....busy prepping for this Fridays Hobby House show:)

Take care,

Heartfelt Creations Wednesday - Floral Clock

Good morning fellow crafters! It's Wednesday again which means over on the Heartfelt Creations blog you will find lot's of inspiring creations from the design team:)
Not to mention the sneak peek of Aprils new collection - Celebrate the Journey!!!

My card today is a 6" x 6" using one of the panels from the Once Upon a Time paper collection and the stamp is from the Floral Clock stamp set.

  • I stamped the image, coloured it in using some distress inks and cut it out with a Spellbinder circle die.
  • I matted the image onto the Decorative Circle from the Raindrops on Roses die set and adhered it to the card.
  • I made a  rose using the Vintage Floret stamps a die. Added a couple of leaves that I made using the Classic leaf die and stamps and adhered it to the card.
  • The tag is also from the paper collection, which I have cut out and matted onto some peachy card.
  • I made an organza bow and a twine bow and added it to my card. I have added a flower cameo which is from The Hobby House.
  • To finish I added some Pink Taffeta Stickles glitter and a few pearl swirls.
You can find the full details on how I made my card and the full list of items that I used over on the Heartfelt Creations blog HERE

That all from me today! I hope you all have a glorious day:)

Heartfelt Creations Class card!

Good morning everyone:) I hope you are all well:) x
Sorry I didn't post this yesterday, but I wanted to share both one of the cards we made in my class on Saturday and the one we will be making on Sunday at Christine Emberson's  Hope and Chances Studio in Gravesend. As you can see this card includes some Posy Patch flowers and the tag is slightly different! ....we also still have a few places left for the afternoon class!

I just love  making criss cross tag cards and have been wanting to make one with the Raindrops on Roses collection for a while now....so this was the perfect opportunity.

  • I made a criss cross card in pink card stock.
  • I have used a Martha Stewart border punch to create the lacy edge.
  • I have cut one of the 6" x 6" panels from the Raindrops on Roses paper collection in half and matted them onto some pale green card stock and adhered them to the card.
  • I have adhered another panel to the inside along with a punched border in the pale green card stock.
  • I have decorated the card and tag with The Hobby House decorative pearls on string.
  • For the tag I have used the Happy Birthday panel from the paper collection....although you could stamp this image from the stamp which although is slightly bigger is also a nice option if you like to stamp and colour! I then matted this onto the pale green card and then onto some pale pink card.
  • I die cut the decorative circle from the Raindrops on Roses collection in pale green card, cut it in half (saving the other half for another project) and adhered it from the back. I also added a loop of ribbon. To neaten up the back I cut a piece of pale green card 1" x the same width of the tag and punched the scallops with the Martha Stewart punch. I adhered this to cover the decorative circle at the back.
  •  I made roses from the Vintage Floret die and stamps, which I have added to the card and tag along with a few leaves from the classic leaf die and stamps and also the foliage flourish from the Gift Ensemble.
  • To finish I have added a pink organza ribbon bow and of course some Stickles glitter.

Here is the other version which we will be making in my class on Sunday:

The tag on this one is wider than the first as I have used the Window image. I have used the Birthday tag though on the back.....if you require a different sentiment you can always cover this one up and add one of your choice!

Lot's to look at today:)

Take care x

Something a little shabby vintage

Hello everyone....Just a really quickie post from me today, but I haven't posted since Friday and thought I would share another card with you from the Heartfelt creations - Once Upon a Time collection or it will take me weeks to get through them all:)...so maybe not a quickie post lol:)
I spent yesterday with a wonderful class of girls at Sir Stampalot in Peterborough....we made 3 cards!!!
I new I was pushing it a bit to get 3 cards done as the first was a criss cross card and my classes always involve a lot of die cutting, but YAY!!! we managed it lol.
I will get them photographed today and post them during the week:)

Todays card is what I call a shabby vintage style.....with a quick colouring technique!

  • I started with a 6 1/2"x 6 1/2" peachy card blank which I made from co-ordinations. I distressed the edges with the Tim Holtz distress tool and added a little Tea Dye distress ink.
  • I then took a 6"x 6" panel from the Once Upon a Time paper collection. Again distressed the edges. I made a little tare about 1" from the right hand side edge and rolled it to create a little pocket and adhered it to my card.
  • I already had some elements die cut and stamped out so I went for the 'Time is Short', distressed a little with some versafine pigment ink - Mocha (508) which is a pad containing 5 shades of browns and adhered it just inside the little pocket that I created.
  • I heat embossed the Brick and Clock stamp using Cosmic Shimmer Bronze detail embossing powder onto cream card.
  • I coloured the image in with a quick colouring technique using the Versafine inks as above and some little sponge finger daubers which I used on a Hobby House show a few weeks ago.
  • To colour the leaves I just used a little distress ink - Crushed Olive and Frayed Burlap.
  • I matted the image onto some card the same as my main card, distressing the edges again and adhered it to my card.
  • I added a lace and twine bow, small Majestic morning flower, some leaves and a sentiment from the papers.
  • To finish I have added a few pearls and some Stickles glitter - Pink Taffeta.

So this post wasn't as quick as I intended, but I do like to give you the 'How to Make it' bit :) x

I hope you all enjoy the rest of your weekend.....me! well I will be catching up on a little housework, a little crafting, a little photography (well, not sure that's how I would call it ...I just have my camera set on auto and hope for the best).... and then Mr Selfridge tonight:)....best programme ever, but my Sundays  are just not the same without 'Call the Midwife:( Ohhhh and I mustn't forget to cook Sunday lunch....not that I do much cooking but hubby is fishing today so it is my turn:(

Must go now lol
Take care x

Heartfelt Creations - Enjoy the Beauty

Happy Friday everyone:) How many of you are going to be visiting the NEC this weekend?.....Unfortunately I won't be going as I have classes this weekend....on the plus side I get to
craft with lots of lovely ladies:) ....Its going to be a fun day and we are hoping to make at least 3 cards including some stamping, flower making and lots of other techniques:)

Oh and on the subject of classes there are still a few places left for next Sundays class at Gravesend - Christine Emerson's studio 'Hope and Chances'....if you would like to join us then their is a link on the above tab - Workshops & Demonstrations.

My card that I am sharing today is what I class as one of my quicker cards to create:) No stamping involved as I have used one of the toppers from the Once Upon a Time collection.

  • I started with a cream 8" x 8" card blank
  • I have matted some olive green card onto the card base.....this measured 7 1/2" square.
  • I then embossed a cream piece of card measuring 7" square, using a Die'sire embossing folder.
  • I added a length of cream ribbon and the some velvet olive ribbon on top and then adhered the embossed card onto the card.
  • I used Spellbinder dies: A2 Curved Matting Basics A (olive card), Decorative Labels Eight (cream card), Timeless Rectangles (cream card). I then adhered them to the card using foam pads as in picture.
  • I cut out the sentiment panel from the paper collection. Die cut the Decorative Circle from the Raindrops on Roses collection, cut it in half and adhered from the back to each side of the panel.
  • I adhered the sentiment panel onto the centre of the matted Spellbinder dies.
  • I added a length of the beautiful flower pearls on a string to the ribbon using some strong double sided tape.
  • I have made a double bow in the cream ribbon and added a spacer and pearl brad.
  • To finish I have added some small pearls to the sentiment and the Decorative Circle.
  • All of the pearls and ribbon are from The Hobby House
I just love the colours of this card....I'm not really into my greens, but if I do use them I tend to go for olive tones.....not sure why:)

As always just leave a comment on this post and you will be put into the random org draw:)

I will update the blog candy picture in the sidebar at a later date as I am having a new banner and buttons designed and they are not quite ready yet!.....Ooooohhh I can't wait to get a new look blog:)

Black and White.....with a little glitter

So here's todays card!  Gosh! I have so many to share, but I have decided on this monochrome card.

I have just added a little Diamond Stickles to some of the roses and some pearls to the centre of the tiny Posy Patch flowers.

  • This card ,measures 5 1/4" x 7" and I used black card for my base card.
  • I cut a piece of white card measuring 5" x 6 3/4" so that it leaves just a small border. I used the Spellbinder M-Bossabilities folder - Twisted Heart, design A to add some texture. I used a Martha Stewart punch to create the corners.
  • I die cut the Spellbinder die Timeless Rectangles in black card and matted it onto the card with foam pads.
  • I then cut a piece of white card measuring 3 1/4" x 5" and used a corner punch to round the edges. I adhered this to the card with foam pads.
  • Next I die cut the 2nd from largest rectangle from the Spellbinder die set Decorative Labels Eight in black card and adhered this again using foam pads to the card.
  • I stamped the stamp from the Heartfelt Creations floral Stamp set in black Archival ink onto white card. I die cut it out using the 2nd from largest die from the Timeless Rectangles and used foam pads again to adhere to my card.
  • I already had some Time sentiments stamped and die cut.....I always like to stamp and die cut a batch of sentiments in different colours from each collection so that I have them at hand, which makes it a lot easier when making my cards. (I do this with my flowers too).
  • I made a shabby seam binding bow and adhered it to the right hand corner of the card.
  • I added the sentiment to the centre of the bow.
  • To finish I added some pearls to the corners of the card and I used some stickles glitter - diamond on some of the roses and leaves.....I love this very subtle effect. I have also added some tiny pearls  to the centre of the Posy Patch flowers.
Good luck with the blog candy :)

Take care x

Kenny K - Hobby House Inspiration

Afternoon everyone! I am back with a 2nd post today as I completely forgot it was my turn to share some Hobby House inspiration with you:)
You may have seen me demo this card on create and craft a few weeks ago!
I have used the new Kenny K topper. A very quick card for a young boy.....I have also made a pocket inside so that you can enclose either money or a voucher!

This was completely out of my comfort zone, I will admit. However I really need to get used to making these style cards as I have 3 young grandsons:).....sometimes it is nice to do something a little different, don't you think?

If you are looking for my Heartfelt Creations project please scroll down:)
Tomorrow I will be launching another blog candy which is going to be a little different so make sure you drop by:) ....I think you will like it:)x

How Time Flies

Happy Wednesday everyone! Half way through the week already..... how time flies!!!....Sorry I just couldn't help it:)...But it is time for Heartfelt Creations Design team to share more inspiring cards and projects using the Once Upon a Time Collection over on the Heartfelt Creations blog HERE
This week you will not see my creation posted on the main Heartfelt blog as I didn't get chance to post it on there in time:(
Today I thought I would share the clock that I decorated using the papers and elements from the Once Upon a Time Collection.

This was a really fun project to make and was relatively easy.
  • The centre clock face is from the paper collection which I cut out. I matted it onto the small/medium die from the Spellbinder Grand Decorative Circle die set.
  • I adhered all of my paper to the MDF parts before gluing the clock together.....the clock came in 3 parts and the actual clock workings are sold separately.
  • I stamped the Floral Clocks image randomly all over the clock.
  • I used some Gesso on the bird...which I think is a cuckoo but mine looks more like a dove lol. I then sponged over with some pale dusky pink, blue and grey acrylic paint. I added a pearl for the eye.
  • I die cut and stamped  the Majestic Morning flowers, Open Leaves and the leave flourishes from the Gift Ensemble die set.
  • I fussy cut some of the tags and sentiments from the papers.
  • The clocks are: Time Sentiments, Numeral sentiments and Timeless sentiments. I always like to stamp and die cut a selection of sentiments and this type of element and keep them in a plastic tub, then I always have some to go to when I am making a project.
  • I added some lace and pearls which are from The Hobby House.
  • I adhered a vintage metal clock in the centre of the open heart.
  • I die cut the trellis hearts from the Timeless Amour die set in the teal paper from the collection and adhered these to the hearts on the clocks.
  • I adhered the flowers and leaves etc. I added some pearls in the centre of each flower and on the trellis hearts.
  • Finally I added some Stickles Glitter - Diamond
I purchased the MDF clock and workings online at Cuddly Buddly.com

Now I am off  to work on some samples for my next Heartfelt Creations show which is on April 14th.....times to be confirmed.
Enjoy the rest of your day:)

So for my card today: Birthday Time

  • This card is 8"x8".
  • I have used one of the panels from the Once Upon a Time Collection. I fussy cut the alarm clock out from the papers, even though there is an alarm clock stamp in the collection...but this one is bigger and I thought it looked better on this size card. I inked over the clock to with a little faded Jeans Distress ink. I have also cut out the tag from the papers.
  • I have stamped and die cut the Time Sentiments.
  • I stamped the numeral stamp and heat embossed with Cosmic Shimmer white detail embossing powder. I used Stormy Sky and a little Faded Jeans Distress inks and wiped away the excess from the embossed area. I then matted this onto some navy card stock.
  • I made up the card as in picture adding some lace and some decorative pearls from The Hobby House to embellish my card.
That's it from me today....rather a long post:)
I will be back tomorrow sometime....I just need to photograph all my other cards!

Floral Clocks

A very good evening fellow blogging friends! I hope you are all having a good weekend:)

  • The card measures 6"x6"....another small card for me as I normally make 7"x7" or 8"x8", but I really am beginning to like making these smaller ones!
  • I have embossed the lilac and white mats with a Die'sire embossing folder that I have had in my stash for , well let's say too long:) and never used:( but I think it goes rather well with this collection.
  • The circle die is Spellbinder - Delightful Circles and I have layered the Raindrops on Roses decorative circle die on top.
  • The stamp is from the Once Upon a Time collection - Floral Clocks....Such a pretty and delicate stamp:). I coloured it in using Milled Lavender and Seedless grapes Distress inks. I die cut it out using the small/medium die from the Spellbinder die set - Decorative Labels Eight.
  • I have stamped and die cut the Time Sentiments.
  • I made the tiny rose with the smallest 2 dies from the Vintage Floret and co-ordinating stamps.
  • The pearls are from The Hobby House

I will say good night now as I need to get a good night sleep:)

Take care everyone x
