Time for Tea

Good morning everyone. Today I would like to share a card which I have made with some of my new goodies that I purchased from Ally Pally at the weekend.
I normally go for 8x8 size cards, but I thought I would make a small card today (14.5x14.5) using a topper from The Hobby House - Tea Time by Mo Manning:).  I really am going all out today as again I don't normally do toppers, but they are just perfect for those days when I just don't have time to colour my image....... I'm thinking they are going to be very useful. I am loving these images so I can definitely say that the stamps are going to be on my newest NEED list :).
  • I have used purple shimmer card to make the card base
  • Matt and layered the image with co-ordinating die cut shapes and frames (The Hobby House)and then onto co-ordinating card. Before putting together I have used shabby pink embossing enamel around the edges.
  • The roses, pearls, and brads are from The Hobby House.
  • Silk flower in the centre of the cluster is from Prima.
  • Lace and ribbon is from my stash.
  • The heart charm - Mei Flower
  • I have then finished of the card using stickles.
Here are a few more pictures to show you the detail a little better -

I would like to enter this card into the following challenges -
Lexi's Creations - Lace and/or Ribbon
The Crafty bloggers network - Anything Goes
Ladybug Crafts TLT challenge - A card for a child or teenager

LIEBSTER AWARD

Hello again, as I said earlier I would be back later to post the names of my 5 Nominees for the
Liebster award.
To my amazement I recieved this award from Kim :) and I am greatly honoured to accept. So firstly thank you so much for this award Kim. You can find her blog here so please hop over and have a peek.
This award was designed to promote blogs which have less than 200 followers. Once the award is accepted, the idea is to pay it forward to five other blogs you enjoy, encouraging others to visit, leave comments, and hopefully follow.
To accept the award:
Thank the person who gave it to you and link back to their blog. Post the award on your blog. Give the award to five other bloggers who have less than 200 followers.

Write a comment on their blog letting them know they have been nominated.
Kim is also a semi finalist for the Heartfelt Creations DT call and I left her a message on her blog to wish her luck and became a follower as I love her design styles and also because on one of her posts she wrote how that one day she would love to have a career in crafting and would love to do magazine work....... well I just thought wow! we have the same dreams:) So thats's how we met in blog land x
So here is my THANK YOU from one blogger to another! (This is one of the reasons I am just loving this blogland.... there are so many wonderful, caring and talented crafters that I wouldn't have known even exsisted).

NOW for  5 others that I would like to nominate with less than 200 followers:

First is Monica Lowrance. Monica is also a HFC design team finalist and was one of the first to congratulate me on getting through. We have emailed each other a few times too and I feel that even though we have never met that she is part of my growing number of crafting blog friends. Her designs are very unique and gorgeous and I love the way she tries lots of different mixed medias, and she is certainly an inspiration for me to try other techniques :)This is her blog http://happyscrappn2.blogspot.co.uk/

My next nominee is Marilyn (newfie crafter). Marilyn has left some lovely comments on my blog, which I really appreciate the fact that she has taken time to hop over and take a look :)
I love her designs and the fact that she uses some gorgeous dies and papers, they are so inspirational.
I do believe that she has recieved this award before however i'm sure that you can be awarded it more than once.... well anyway I think she truely deserves it:) This is her blog http://craftsbeyond.blogspot.co.uk/

My 3rd nominee is Carole. Carole as with Marilyn has left me some lovely comments and without crafting bloggers like her then us new bloggers wouldn't have the inspiration to keep posting.
Carole's designs are really beautiful so please hop over and take a look at her blog :) http://8thwonderart.blogspot.co.uk/

My 4th nominee goes to Oskana Clegg. Oskana is another well deserved finalist for the HFC design team call and again has left me a lovely, kind comment. I can only describe her designs as clean, fresh and elegant., they are just beautiful :).http://www.everydaycrafting.blogspot.co.uk/
I wish her and all the other HFC dt call semi finalists lots of luck x

My final nominee isYuri Kitamura from Japan, WHY? because I have absolutley fell in love with her creations:).  I came accross Yuri in blog land a few weeks ago on a challenge blog and then again on several others so I hopped on over to see her designs on her blog and WOW! what a very talented lady:) and to my amazement she has only been crafting since May 2012, my jaw was open for hours:)
Please visit her blog as i'm sure that you to will love her designs http://soffamagnolia.blogspot.co.uk/

Well thats my 5 Nominees all with very different creative talents, but all that I admire and find very inspirational :)
So congatulations to each and every one of you  please grab your badge at the top of this post and add it to your blogs and link me back here to show who was inspired by your work enough to award you the leibster this time.

Shabby Chic Scrapbook Frame

Good afternoon fellow bloggers. Believe it or not I have been trying to post this since 7am this morning however hubby had other plans....... fit all of our interior doors as he has a few days off work and who am I to argue as i've been waiting for over 6 months:).  Even though he has tried his best to keep most of the mess outside I seem to have spent most of the day with the hoover on!

So anyway....... the project that I have to share with you today is a scrapbook page frame.  I have had the frame for months now and last night finally had the inspiration to do something with it.

The gorgeous little boy in the photo is my grandson Mason........ who even at age the age of 2years and 3 months is a little poser :)
I painted the frame using some Docrafts pearl acrylic paint - Mother of Pearl as the base coat. I then stamped around the edges with a Justrite stamp - Classic edge with Stazon ink in teal. I have then used Tim Holtz crackle glaze paint in faded jeans. Finally when all was dry in went over the frame with distress ink - Milled Lavender to give the frame just a little hint of purple.

For the scrapbook page I have used paper from Maja Design.  I have adhered it to the back inside of the frame. I have used embossing enamel to add a little texture to the sides and right hand corner, and
created my page using lots of buttons and flowers. The bird and clock elements I have cut from the Pixie Glen papers.
I have also embossed some of the wooden embellishments.
Finally I have put the frame together without inserting the glass and decorated the ouside of the frame.

Items Used:
Papers:
Maja Design and Prima - Pixie Glen
Spellbinder dies: Opulent Ovals and H/C Timeless Amour
Justrite:  Classic Lace Edge border stamp
Prima: Flowers, crystals/gems, wood embellishments, Vintage trinkets and the sentiment
Doily and buttons are from my crafty stash
Inks: Stazon - teal, distress ink - Milled Lavender
Stickles - Diamond
Stampendous embossing enamel - Shabby white and frantage encrusted jewels
Docrafts: pearl acrylic paint
Tim Holtz: Crackle Glaze paint - Faded Jeans

I would like to enter this project into the following Challenges:
The Shabby Tea Room -  Challenge #161 photo inspiration
Flutterby Wednesday - Challenge #234 flowers

I will being posting again later as I have been awarded a Liebster award by the lovely Kim Robertson over at Inky Kim Craft. I am totally honoured that even though I haven't met this very talented lady she feels that I deserve it.  So I will be back later with details of this award and my 5 bloggers that I would like to nominate.
