Do we really need all of our crafty stash?

A very good Easter Sunday to all my fellow crafters.
It may be cold still, but I have researched the weather for the next week and it is looking up and by early next week we should be hitting double figures in most areas....... Spring will be arriving soon  :).
So I am making the most of this weather and working on my semi final projects for Heartfelt Creations.  I was asked the other day when I start a project do I have any idea what I will be making ?  Well, the answer to that is definitly not, eeeek. I usually start by deciding whether I am going to make a card, scrapbook page, a box or an altered art project. I always decide the colours first and then I go straight to my spellbinder dies and see what I would like to play with. I then look through my stamps and see whether I am going to go with a copic or water  coloured in image, and from there it all just seems to come together....... well as long as mr mojo is being kind. I can sometimes spend hours fiddling about with lots of embellishments and seem to go know where and other times it just all comes together nicely.
The big thing that I have learnt over the last few weeks is that when only given a few items to play with sometimes this is easier and your brain is just filled with lots of ideas on how to use them......... sooooo maybe hubby is right 'do I really need all of this stash'?  Yes! Yes! Yes! we all know the answer to this, but maybe we will just keep this a little secret amongst ourselves :) because as long as I continue to craft (which will be forever) I will always have the ' NEED'  to buy list at hand!

My project that I would like to share with you today is an 8x8 card using only Heartfelt Creation dies and stamps, red, black and cream card and a little ribbon and a few embellishments.

  • Spellbinder dies used :
  • Heartfelt Creations - Layered scalloped posy (HCD 717), Layered Elegant Swirl (HCD 716),

Butterfly Tag

The project that I have to show you today is a little bit different from my normal designs. I was inspired to make this tag when I saw these gorgeous papers from Graphic 45 - Olde Curiosity Shoppe. The colours are rich with a vintage feel and not what  I would usually choose, but I just fell in love them. I used the 8x8 paper pack and cut the frames and other elements from it and layered them up.

Heartfelt Creations DT update - Am I really going crazy :(

After my exciting news on Wednesday about making the semi finals for the Heartfelt Creations design team call I have been eagerly awaiting my parcel of goodies....... well it arrived Friday :)
I hadn't realised how gorgeous there papers are , I have lots of dies and a few stamps, but have never purchased any of there papers. They really are scrummy little vintage and very pretty colours, I love the papers that they have chosen for me :)  However as with all my new papers I asked myself this question _ Do I really have to use them?...... We all know the feeling when we just want to look and stroke them!  My friends and family think I'm a little strange,  but I have explained that unless you are a papercrafter you just wouldn't understand!  So anyway, I am really pleased with what they have sent me and the dies and stamp that they included I don't have these ones in my collection , so this was a real bonus :)  But I have a problem!!!!! As with many of you crafters out there I have been known to lay awake trying desperately to go to sleep, but just can't get crafting ideas and lists of what I need to buy out of my head........ However Friday night was a little different .... I actually created a whole project from start to finish in my sleep! I woke in the morning and actually thought I had really finished this project :), but when I woke properly I realised that it was just a dream!  Am I really going crazy or is it the fact that this design team thing has just gone to my head....... My question to you all is ....'Am I the only crafter that has experienced this or am I really just letting  this crafting obsession literally go to my head' ? lol  This was my first ever design Call that I applied for and I just can't believe that they have chosen me along with 19 extremely talented ladies that have also made it to the semi finals. It definitely is a dream come true :) even if I don't get through the thrill of it all is enough for me :)  The thing is the project I created in my sleep was actually pretty good so am going to give it a try:) not sure that it will work, but I will keep you posted.
Also I would just like to say that I hope all the other ladies that got through love there goodies as much as I do and GOOD LUCK to you all :) x

So sorry for the long post today.  My creation I would like to share with you on this very cold Sunday is an altered note book.  I have used lots of new goodies that I purchased from My Crafty Heart the other day and received yesterday...... some of them are so pretty I am going to struggle to open them and actually use them :(

So if you are reading my blog and finding it enjoyable and find my creations inspirational please click the button on the side:)
A big thankyou in advance to all of my bloglovin followers x
